“Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana” is a central sector scheme that was launched by the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi on 17 September 2023. The main objective of this scheme launched by the Government of India is to bring under special schemes 18 different types of artisans and craftsmen currently engaged in various professions in India. Businessmen applying under this scheme will get a certificate and ID card.

Tailor machines from among these 18 different types of businessmen will be provided free of cost. That is why the PM Vishwakarma Free Sewing Machine Scheme has been started by the Prime Minister in the current PM Vishwakarma Yojana.

“PM Vishwakarma Free Silali Machine Yojana” Objective

• The main objective of PM Vishwakarma Free Sewing Machine Scheme is to provide free sewing machines and skill development to the women of every family in India so that they can live a self-reliant life.
• This scheme was launched in India to equip various categories of artisans and businesses of those artisans with the necessary toolkit and enhance their skills in that particular category.
• Under this scheme, every artisan of a certain category will get a PM Vishwakarma certificate and ID card. Artisans who want to take training in a particular category can take training for 5 to 15 days or even more.
• While undergoing training, each artisan will get a salary of Rs 500 per day.
• On commencement of basic skills training, each artisan will receive an e-voucher of Rs 15,000 for toolkit promotion in his/her category, so that each artisan can further expand his/her business.
• Under this scheme, each artisan will get a loan of Rs 1 lakh to Rs 3 lakh at only a 5 to 8 percent annual interest rate to take his business to a larger level.

• At present small and big businesses are growing in various categories in India. So for those categories of artisans to grow and expand their business on a large scale, the Government of India has launched this PM Vishwakarma Free Sewing Machine Scheme.
• 18 businesses from various professions have been included in this scheme, in which artisans and craftsmen are engaged.
• Those occupations are – stone breaker, cobbler/shoemaker, mason, basket/mat/broom maker/coir weaver, goldsmith, potter, sculptor (sculptor, stone carver), doll and toy maker (traditional), barber (Barbers), garland makers (Malankara), washermen (Dhobi), tailors (Darji) and fishing net makers, carpenters (Suthaar/Badhaai), boat makers, weapon makers, blacksmiths (Iron), Hammer and tool kit makers and locksmiths.

• To apply for PM Vishwakarma Free Sewing Machine Scheme the applicant must be a permanent resident of India.
• In this scheme, both men and women can apply for Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Free Sewing Machine Scheme.
• To apply for the PM Vishwakarma Free Sewing Machine Scheme, the age of the applicant should be between 18 years to 40 years.
• Only one member of the family can avail the benefit of this scheme.
• To apply for PM Vishwakarma Free Sewing Machine Scheme the applicant’s family should be from a poor family.
• Under this scheme, women of any tribe will get more priority.

Step 1: To apply for this scheme, first of all, you should have your Aadhar card, your identity card, income certificate, a passport-size photo, a bank passbook, and a valid mobile number.

Step 2: Now you have to go to the homepage of the official website to apply for PM Vishwakarma Sewing Machine Scheme 2024.

Step 3: After visiting the homepage of the official website, now you have to click on the Login option link to apply online, then click on the Applicant / Beneficiary Login option. Now fill the mobile number and captcha code and click on the login option again.

Step 4: Now you have to verify your Aadhar card and mobile number by filling the OTP received on Asha phone.

Step 5: Now you have to enter all the required information correctly.

Step 6: In the next step you have to go to the business category and select Tailor.

Step 7: You have to scan and upload the required documents.

Step 8: Finally after clicking on the submit button, you will get a successful application receipt, which you need to keep safely.
